Caitlin Doughty - From Here to Eternity : Traveling the World to Find the Good Death

As someone who is interested in everything death related, this book is a festival of morbid knowledge. Abundance of burial and death customs from all over the world, from different cultures, and different perspectives about death. This book is about the path the dead body and the people around it go through. It is not a book about grief; it is about corpses, as Caitlin, the author, said in one of her YouTube videos. This is not a "pornographic" voyeuristic book, it has no horror stories in it and it was not written to shock. Caitlin describes the customs and ideas of different cultures in a respectful and inclusive manner, and opens a window to the different ways of looking at death and the dead body. I found myself drawn into this fascinating book, and I feel my view on the subject got wider than before.

Music

Aviv Guedj - The album “Tfila Le’Yahid” (Prayer for one)

His first solo album - “Tfila Le’Yahid”. As far as I am concerned, Aviv manages to accurately describe the experience of depression and the lack of control in it. As in any album, here too there are very strong songs (“Yavan” [Greece], for example) and less powerful (“Nahash BaEsev” [snake in the grass], for example), but as a whole I think it is a perfect picture of the emotional turmoil and the muffled waves that make up depression or other mood (affective) disorders.
